About

Dylan Tyler is completing his senior year at Washburn University.  He is pursuing an undergraduate degree in mass media, with an emphasis in public relations, and minor in communication studies.

Starting in 2016, he worked for the “Washburn Review” as the sports team leader/editor. Dylan’s responsibilities varied, but consisted of leading a team to cover big sporting news.

During his time at the “Washburn Review,” Dylan gained experience in team leadership, InDesign layouts, and editing in Associated Press Style.

In May 2016, Dylan took the job as Promotions Assistant for Cumulus Broadcasting, Inc. Dylan’s main responsibilities were planning for events; this meant providing social media coverage before and during an event, doing street appearances with an FM station, updating the station websites, and contacting other entities.

Occasionally, he would set up mixers to broadcast live events, perform live remotes, and run board operations for local high school and Kansas University games.

In the midst of all these plans and accomplishments, Dylan still knows how to stay in touch with his active youth. His love of sports lead him to learn the games disc golf and ultimate frisbee.

Dylan’s portfolio showcases a variety of skills: news writing, strategic communication, and research reporting.

About

I have completed my BA at Washburn University.  I pursued an undergraduate degree in mass media, with an emphasis in public relations, and minor in communication studies.

Starting in 2016, I worked for the “Washburn Review” as the sports team leader/editor. My responsibilities varied, but consisted of leading a team to cover big sporting news.

During my time at the “Washburn Review,” I gained experience in team leadership, InDesign layouts, and editing in Associated Press Style.

In May 2016, I  took the job as promotions assistant for Cumulus Broadcasting, Inc. My main responsibilities were based around planning for events; this meant providing social media coverage before and during an event, doing street appearances with an FM station, updating the station websites, and contacting other entities.

Occasionally, I would set up mixers to broadcast live events, perform live remotes, and run board operations for local high school and Kansas University games.

In the midst of all these accomplishments, I still know how to stay in touch with  my active youth. My love of sports lead me to learn the games disc golf and ultimate frisbee in college, and continue my love for baseball by playing slowpitch.

My portfolio showcases a variety of skills: news writing, strategic communication, and research reporting.
